Hi guys,
I am putting my feelers out to rack the brains for you all. I’m spending so much time being stuck in situations with my bubbling. And so I’m in search of a course that could be recommended that can legitimately assist in getting me to the bubble certification level.
I am currently in a transitional period and I’m running out of time so I need to get learning and competent asap. I’m not looking to hire someone to build something for me. I want to build for other with the goal to start freelancing for myself and agencies and then start an Dev agency of my own.
I’m really looking for something that is dynamic or live or at least components of it to be live. Otherwise I’m again finding myself searching for how to accomplish certain tasks etc
Coaching no code apps is full
There is the full course program by No code alliance and JJ Englert
Think it build it by Matt Neary
Nocodepathways.com (all Courses)
100daysofnocode.com bootcamp
The list goes on and I get paralyzed with who to go with. I don’t want to was time and money on a course that tells me what an element is etc, I’m past a beginner maybe at the beginning of intermediate, I’ve built 3 apps following along with free courses that dont really get finished in the end… Ive built completely from scratch my MindScribe app ( you can see the issue im having with that here Complicated multi image/ file upload and display set up
and you can see the app version test here Bubble | No-code apps
Login with: demo@email.com
password: Demo
Anyway: I would like to be able to complete a full course that at the end of it I am knowledgeable enough to take the Bubble certification test. Any recommendations? either from the courses I’ve listed or from others?
Your helps and support is much appreciated.
Based on this, you should probably also consider the Airdev partner program and bootcamp. If you just want to work soon, it’s probably the best option out there. The disadvantage of Airdev’s course is it really teaches you to use Canvas which is a building framework that Airdev use and I wouldn’t recommend for real world client projects.
Honestly, I firmly believe just building is the best way to learn Bubble and pass the certification. I never took a Bubble bootcamp - I built my first app, then rebuilt it three times because each time I realised what was about the previous build. It’s well documented that we learn not by copying but by making mistakes, understanding the mistake, and fixing it.
If you want to learn how to build good Bubble apps, building Bubble apps is the way to do it. Don’t build it maintainably? That’ll bite you in the ass in three weeks when you come back to that feature. Lesson learned. Don’t build it performantly? You’ll find out soon enough and go back to fix it.
If you want to pass the certification in the shortest amount of time, build your app, rebuild it when it becomes a pain, and rinse and repeat until you’ve done a good job. You’ll pass in a few months.

I followed along on the AirDev Bootcamp and stopped when I I got to the Canvas section as I really wanted to learn how to build with bubble but after doing the first two modules you get to the third one and then they’re teaching you how to build with canvas… Which is great as long as you never want to go away from AirDev. And I wanted to learn how to create full bubble apps. Not how to only build with templates. I’m not against it but it’s not what I was after as a beginner
I understand what you’re saying about just building it and getting stuck into it, which is basically what I’ve been doing up till now. And definitely there have been some steep and great learning curves. (It just sometimes hurts when I have to spend hours upon hours searching for an answer to a issue or problem that I’m trying to solve in my app build hahha).
I guess the best thing to do is to stop building demo apps. And finally bite the bullet and build the progress diary app that that started this whole journey. That way I can justify paying for the full version of bubble and also then it makes sense to publish it and use it as it’s supposed to be done. Thanks for your thoughts and input @georgecollier I really appreciate your input into the Forum and the help that you give others

While you’re doing that, you’re also stumbling upon other bits of knowledge that will help you
That’ll mean you’re also more likely to enjoy the development process.

If you are not a beginner, that means you already understand what and how things are done. At this stage, courses would not add as much value/experience as a real-life problem statement.
Personally, I have not attended any of the courses and got started by building direct apps. My first app had lots of functionality including chats, dashboard, a referral system, custom calculations, and blogs. So it helped with learning.
Definitely!
Maybe an unpopular opinion, but do not focus on the Bubble Certification at this stage. Just focus on acquiring the skills.
All the best!

Thanks very much for you thoughts @animisha45 these are also good points.
Roughly how long did it take you to build your first app learning yourself, let’s say to a stage that things were functioning reasonably well as as they should haha . I say it like this because of course we can build an App but that doesn’t necessarily mean that it works as it should right? Haha
I think the reason why I’m concentrating on doing the certification is because there seems to be a lot of emphasis put on this now that it’s available and so the way I see it, it could be harder to get work without the certification because then let’s say possible employment opportunities are asking well. If you can build, why don’t you have the certification?.. And possibly it’s a valid question
It was working reasonably well when I worked on it. Although (we are talking 4 years ago so WU was not a thing yet), I am sure it was not optimized. And if I see what I made then, there might be lots of things I would do differently now.
And it has more to do with the fact that when I worked on more apps, I came across more unique ways to do a certain thing and figured better ways to build a database etc.
Edit: I was working as a part of agency and had amazing mentors both times, so that definitely helped with speed running the learnings.
I could be wrong here, but as far as I have seen, Clients do not care much about the Certification as they care about your portfolio and testimonials. Although you might need it when you create the agency profile to upgrade on the agency tier on Bubble.

Thanks very much @animisha45. Yes I’m sure it was much faster having mentor an working within an agency. Then you’re definitely in the thick of it. Currently, apart from few people that I’ve met through Linkedin and the bubble Forum, I’m the only person that I know in real life who knows bubble.
So it can feel a little like I’m alone in the learning, although of course there is the Forum to ask for help, but it still feels quite distant.
