I have a large open space in one section of my app and I can’t figure out how to close it. Its probably a simple fix but I’m too frustrated to be embarrassed.

You’ve probably forgot to set collapse when hidden on one of your groups.
If you click on the magnifying glass at the top right of the editor, select search by element type and then set the element type to group (search current page only).
Then click on edit these elements, you can select all groups that haven’t been set to collapse and mass collapse and apply to all
