How to get indexed on Google SC w/o requesting indexing for each page individually

Hi all,

I have a question about Google Search Console, would appreciate your expertise.

I submitted sitemap to GSC 6 weeks ago, around 700 pages got indexed but it’s gets a bit confusing.

In GSC, I see :white_check_mark: indexed . Then, when I search for my site on google “site:drills.golf” I get only a handful of results while 99% of pages don’t show. Then when I search for a specific url’s such as “site:drills.golf/drill/1052” that page shows in the results.

Then a bit further, when I manually requested indexing for “drills.golf/drill/9001” (thats an actual link that I requested), that page appeared in the general “site:drills.golf” search alongside handful other results.

So in order for 700 pages to be indexed and shown alongside “drills.golf” when I search for “site:”, I would need to request indexing manually for all 700.

I know this doesn’t relate specifically to any Bubble feature but I do have a Bubble app and just trying to understand how my pages can appear on Google and what should I do.

I am preparing around 40,000 dynamic pages and knowing that I don’t have to manually request every single one and that my pages are actually being shown in the results would be of immense help.

You don’t need to request indexing from Google.

Google will crawl your pages and index them if it thinks they’re worth indexing.

Just make sure your content is good, your technical SEO is solid, and your pages will have a good chance of getting indexed (and staying indexed).

Manually requesting indexing doesn’t guarantee anything — it just gives Google a little nudge to re-crawl the page sooner.

Hi Adam,

I’m looking for a feasible explanation. I did my due diligence but the behavior is unclear.

When I manually request indexing for a specific page, it appears in “site:drills.golf” results a day after. How things stand right now, if I don’t do manually request, pages won’t be shown.

But when searching a specific url, it appears. So why is it not included in the former example I shared?

Here’s what I found.

Just a note to start with, I submitted a sitemap via search console some weeks ago.

First screenshot is the page I manually requested indexing for:

And the second screenshot is in the same status as all other pages.

I’m going to hit request indexing for this second example now and I expect it to be shown in a day or so (same as the first screenshot example).

Does this mean that the page is indexed and recognized by search engine but it doesn’t belong to any sitemap? But then, why does it appear when searching for “site:that-specific-link” but it doesn’t appear under the domain search results when searching for “site:domain”? Trying to understand.

edit: This should be automated upon submitting sitemap but for some reason referring page is “none detected”.

update:

I just recalled, I did remove the initial sitemap I added and re-add the updated sitemap. That might be the cause, but how do I make sure that the pages end up belonging to the sitemap?

You don’t need to do anything, just select the sitemaps you want to expose to crawlers in your Settings > SEO tab.

Then wait and check the Google search console from time to time. These things can take days or weeks to play out.
