Infinite undo gone? Is it just me?

I’m not sure if this is a bug, removal of a (very essential) feature, or just my device/browser. Up until earlier today, we had “infinite undo”, meaning we should be able to hit the undo until the app is back at zero before we started building. Granted, I don’t need it to go back that far, but going back at least a week or two is sometimes necessary (if we’re speaking strictly in terms of what date/time changes are made) because we’re not always in development every day and sometimes need to undo changes that were made since the last dev session.

That being said, my undo stopped after maybe 50-75 “undos” today. I was trying out a new aesthetic structure for a portion of our app and decided I didn’t like it, so I went to undo it like normal (I know, probably should have done a save point), and right before getting back to the “starting point” before making these changes, the undo button stopped and is unclickable. I thought Bubble was supposed to have an infinite undo feature? Anyone else dealing with this?

If this feature has been removed, Bubble should definitely have notified users!

I have never known the undo feature to work the way you described. I always thought (and have used it enough to believe this is the case) that it would essentially undo “a session’s worth” of changes, meaning it could undo changes up to the last time you opened the editor.

For what it’s worth, I don’t think it actually should work the way you described because Bubble gives you the ability (on paid plans, of course) to revert your app to a point in time, and that is much better, in my opinion, than banging on an undo button to undo, say, a week’s worth of changes (not that I’m saying you would do that, but you get the point).

I guess I just didn’t quite realize the undo lifespan resets at each editor session. I honestly hardly ever refresh the page, so my sessions can sometimes last several days. I’ve never had the undo button stop before (I don’t typically have to do many undos). I guess I’ll just have to manually redo the last remaining changes.

To be clear, I don’t know for a fact that it resets at each editor session, but that’s what I have always thought based on my experience of using it over the years.

It looks like you’re correct: Top & Context Menu Options - Bubble Docs

“You can undo all changes made since the last page load.”

Well, look at Bubble having it clearly spelled out in the documentation.

Really not sure why I never looked that up before… good stuff, Sam!

Same here. I’ve been using it for around a year, and our app has 600+ users, so you’d think I should know this stuff, lol.
