What is Bubble trying to tell me? Is there something up with Bubble or my app?

It’s a Bubble limitation saying privacy rules can’t go the extra layer deeper. They can only check fields directly on that Thing.
Like how you can use search constraints, but as soon as you want to filter a layer deeper you have to go to the advanced filter.
I think people end up using a database trigger to sync X’s Y’s field with X’s field. Then privacy rules just point to X’s field
Makes sense, thank you!
This is absurd. Privacy rules are way to limited.
Three weeks nose to the grindstone learning Bubble, with copious planning docs and a killer ERP diagram, only to suddenly find out that I’ll have to build in a ridiculous amount of data-flattening logic, for a very data-driven app. I feel great. You’d think this limitation would be more up front, but no–it’s buried in all the hype.
